In this installment, the southern half of the state (roughly the size of Iowa) is placed under a Severe Thunderstorm watch... in total, 25 counties in MN, 2 in Wisconsin. A mass of thunderstorms with heavy rains impacted the state overnight.
The last half of June brought storm after storm of wicked weather. Dozens of tornado, straight line wind and flash flood reports were reported across the state, including the Twin Cities metro, from June 17th to 26th. Rainfall rates during the June 26th storm were up to over an inch an hour at times in the Twin Cities metro.

![17 Years of The WeatherSTAR 4000
On Tuesday, October 11th, 1994, at 2:45pm, I was elated to turn on The Weather Channel to discover that Id been upgraded to the WeatherSTAR 4000.
After having discovered it over a year earlier at a relatives house, and writing a few letters to the network (and Jim Cantore [ha ha ha]), we finally had received this colorful, graphical upgrade.
So on Tuesday, October 11th, 2011, I am pleased to recreate the first two Local Forecasts I saw that afternoon, using the same pieces of music at the same times they originally aired.
Enjoy!
