The 2018 Nights of Christmas begins - with heavy snow expected tonight. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches in general, except 1 to 2 feet above 7000 feet expected with localized higher amounts at the Sierra Crest. At Lake Tahoe level, 3 to 6 inches are expected with up to 10 inches west of Highway 89. Wind gusts in excess of 60 mph are expected over the higher terrain. Heavy snow possible Friday
