4 Semis Crashed And Shut Down The Freeway For 14 Hours. Title and thumbnail sound like clickbait right? Nope, 100% real as always. More accurate title would actually be 4 semis and one Mercedes AMG!
For our part, we were only responsible for 2 semis with trailers and the Mercedes. On paper, it was definitely difficult but nothing we couldn't easily handle. What turned it into one of the longest jobs we've ever done is the insane amount of standby time. It took like 9 hours for the trailer to show up to haul off the lithium battery.
These lithium jobs are an absolute nightmare to work. Even when they aren't on fire, the protocol and produce around them turn them into all day and night events. Even though we wanted to, we couldn't work our rollover until this was out of the way.
To speed the process, Alex and myself assisted the other tow companies with their wrecks. Always happy to lend a hand and we all worked well together. Huge shout out to Ten West/Statewide, Royal Coaches and Action Environmental for kicking major butt on the cleanup.
I truly hope a lot of people see this video so you guys can see first hand what a job on this scale takes to clear, especially one with all the politics of an environmental danger behind it.
