4 Growth
In a single reckless moment,
No one knows just how far,
A twinkling in the darkness,
Not yet a shooting Star.
Then rapid expansion,
Of this new and growing ring,
With atoms fast collapsing,
From this all and everything.
With Protons paired with Neutrons,
And electrons on the ledge,
The weight of things added up,
Collapsing at the edge.
Dust clouds, stars, and planets,
But not a solitary ball,
They were exactly held together,
By gravity and that is all.
The stars condensed to Galaxies,
The planets birthed of stars,
It was warm enough on one of them,
But not Jupiter or Mars.
The Earth had found the sweet spot,
Goldie Locks I am told,
Meeting in the middle,
Not too hot or cold.
And so eons of interactions,
Between matter, gravity, and light,
Formed a swirl of entropy,
And these poems that I write.
If the Universe is unfolding like science says it is, then these poems and this series is really the fault of the universe, and not me. That is, unless I starting getting a lot of views, and then human nature will kick in, and I will take full credit.
