For decades, Matthew Byrne has been a familiar face inside Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, offering comfort and a sense of normalcy to children and families during some of their hardest moments. That dedication was recognized with a surprise celebration honoring his 30 years of service.

“I didn't expect it at all. I'm just so pleased that they allow me to come,” Byrne said.
