3 ways to use random voltages to create crazy & noisy sounds 👀👇🎛  @sarahbellereid

I love using a mix of randomness and external control / interaction in my patches, so that I feel connected to the sounds I’m making and I have something to react and respond to in real time. Here are 3 simple things you can do with random voltages to quickly create some pretty weird & chaotic sounds:

1️⃣ use them to ping (& simultaneously modulate) resonant filters — experimenting with inversely modulating things like cutoff frequency & resonance / drive can yield some really interesting results!

2️⃣ insert them into a feedback loop — even with just one other module! I’m showing this with an oscillator, but you can get to all kinds of crazy sounds using filters, LFOs, etc.

3️⃣ slight variation on #2: use them to modulate some aspect(s) of a feedback or cross modulation patch — in this example I have a super simple feedback patch on the wave folder, and I’m using randomness to vary the texture and sound.
