In this video we take a look at three Sharp PC-G850 pocket computers imported from Japan. These were a Japanese market product made for technical school and university students studying engineering. They have a large LCD screen, lots of I/O and can be programmed in BASIC, assembler and C.
This was my first foray into buying from the Japanese Yahoo Auctions through a proxy bidding service. While one of the computers was in near mint condition complete with box and manual, the other two were listed as ‘junk’. We will try them all out and then tear one apart to see if it can be repaired. Will the operation be a success? Join us and find out.
