In this video we do a refurb in an Okidata Okimate 20 color printer for the Commodore 64. The Okimate printers were a unique type of thermal printer that could print on thermal paper or could make use of a special wax like ribbon for printing in black or color on regular paper. While it is not a speedy printer it did produce a good quality color output at a good price point for the time.

We clean the Okimate up, fix the ribbon out sensor which was broken in shipment and track down the source of the ribbon not advancing properly. We even cover a bit of BASIC programming to print text in multiple colors and explore the color printing demo/utility disk which came with the printer.
