In this video we take a look at the last computing device that Sir Clive Sinclair ever produced, the Z88 ‘Slab-top’. After selling the Sinclair brand name and product rights to Amstrad Sinclair set about to revive an old dream, a truly portable computer. Of course, it has the signature Sinclair traits, a Z80 processor and questionable keyboard.
We’ll dig into this Z88 and fix the dodgy keyboard membrane, inspect the rest of the innards and then and give it a wash and brush up. After bringing it back to life we’ll spend some time using it to see what sort of a machine it is for daily use.

In this video we take a look at the CE-158X, a modern serial / parallel interface for the Sharp PC-1500[A], PC-1600 computers. The original Sharp CE-158 interfaces are rare, expensive and limited to 2400bps. We created the CE-158X as a modern higher speed replacement. With a solid transfer speed of 19200bps and an experimental 38400bps it takes far less time to transfer programs. We also incorporated a second serial port with a USB interface and the parallel port is now bidirectional.
