We're fortunate to live close to several wilderness areas here in the Rocky Mountains so I decided to squeeze in one more catch and cook before heading to Kodiak Alaska for my next big trip. This time I'm joined by my oldest son Coye and our lab Cedar for a 3 day camping and fishing trip into the wilderness. We'll hike into several backcountry alpine lakes to camp, fly fish, and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. We see a variety of wildflowers and wildlife along the way as well as a few different species of trout. The fishing was tough but I was able to catch a few trout for dinner! I'll demonstrate some basic bushcraft cooking after the campfire burns down to coals.
