This week we're doing something a little different. I was fortunate enough to get a one-on-one training in basic pistol shooting fundamentals with Mickey Schuch, host of the @CarryTrainer Youtube channel at our Idaho homestead. Although I've been around firearms my whole live, nearly all of my experience is with shotguns and various hunting rifles. Semiauto pistols are something I've got very little experience with. I've been considering getting a pistol for self defense for a while so this opportunity came at a good time. Mickey goes over safe handling in and out of the holster, proper grip, draw stroke, pistol shooting stance and various pistol shooting drills for self defense. This was my first time shooting a glock. This one was chambered in 9mm.
