#26: Frigid Outskirts (Sucks)

No, really. This place is horrible. It's a vast expanse of nothingness, periodically obscuring your vision entirely for longer than it isn't, and you get attacked relentlessly by lightning/ice reindeers from hell as you try to cross the wastes to fight the boss on the other side. And there's no other bonfires.

If you don't hate your life, you will now. Luckily, most of my bad experience with this place was had in my first go around when SotFS was first released, so I'm ready for the punishment. I found it best to head straight for the second building in the center, arriving at it's northern wall, then heading straight towards the small canyon where the King's Pets reside, aiming slightly right of the visible enemies in the distance.

Lud and Zallen are just like Aava, but if you aren't quick enough, you'll find yourself overwhelmed by both at once. Zallen will enter an enraged state when he gets low on health, become more resistant to damage, and regenerate a fair amount of HP. My weapon eventually broke from the drawn-out battle, so I do recommend having repair powders on hand, but I was able to use my offhand weapon to finish the fight.

ABOUT THIS SERIES:
This is a casual playthrough where I recreate my favorite old DEX/INT build. The pacing is a bit faster than my usual style; this is not a comprehensive walkthrough, and I will be skipping some items/enemies/sections. I will kill all bosses. I have not played DkS2 since before the release of the third game earlier this year, and in recent months I've been very engrossed in DkS1; this is my revisitation of DkS2, to once and for all gain a proper perspective on all three games in the series.
