Focusing on better placement of sentries, by facing them towards the enemy. Sentries deploy "facing" the way the stratagem ball lands. Typically, this is the way it was thrown, but if the stratagem ball bounces, can change to the direction it bounces. The Rocket and Autocannon sentries can sometimes perform worse in close combat, due to the rocket stopping firing if an enemy is very close, and the autocannon potentially blowing itself up by firing at nearby enemies. Therefore, throw them at elevated positions, away from enemies for maximum performance.

Im helping @ConnorBreadFromBeyond develop his build by playing against him as different races. I was asked not to forward place my buildings to give him some breathing room to start, so I dropping my Iron Priest for some scrap. I really enjoy 13th Company because they have a very flexible building system that benefits from being hyper aggressive.
Dont forget (as I did) that Iron Priests can scrap from vehicles as well!

I take and hold the middle with a pill box, then start controlling zones with heavy weapons teams. I tried mortar teams, but I enjoy the HW teams more. I may try mortars again. Seems like mortars trade damage for range.
