The 2027 Toyota GR GT looks incredible in silver at Monterey Car Week 2026, giving us a fresh look at Toyota's upcoming flagship performance car. The lighter finish highlights the supercar's low proportions, long hood, wide rear bodywork and aerodynamic design.
The Toyota GR GT is being developed as a serious road going performance machine with technology closely connected to motorsport. Its newly developed 4.0 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine works with a hybrid system featuring an electric motor integrated with the rear transaxle.
Toyota is targeting at least 650 metric horsepower and 850 Newton meters of system torque. A newly developed 8 speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, while the drivetrain layout contributes to a targeted 45 percent front and 55 percent rear weight distribution.
The GR GT also introduces Toyota's first all aluminum body frame and uses lightweight materials including carbon fiber reinforced plastic. Toyota is targeting a weight of 1,750 kilograms or less and a top speed of at least 320 kilometers per hour.
Developed alongside the GR GT3 race car, the GR GT represents a new level of performance for Gazoo Racing. The silver example displayed during Monterey Car Week gives us another opportunity to see just how dramatic this new Toyota supercar looks outside of its original presentation.
