2026 Audi A5L Sportback. Is It Worth the Upgrade?
The 2026 Audi A5L Sportback is a China-exclusive long-wheelbase version of Audi’s latest A5, designed to provide greater rear-seat comfort while maintaining the sleek styling of the Sportback. Compared to the global model, it offers a more spacious cabin and introduces advanced driver-assistance technologies developed in partnership with Huawei.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and a 48V mild-hybrid system. Buyers can choose between a 204-horsepower version with up to 340 Nm of torque or a more powerful 272-horsepower variant producing 400 Nm. Depending on the model, front-wheel drive or Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system is available, with top speeds ranging from 240 to 250 km/h.
Inside, the A5L Sportback features Audi’s latest Digital Stage cockpit, including an 11.9-inch virtual instrument display, a 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch passenger display. Premium amenities include a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated seats with massage functions, and soft-close doors. Advanced safety technology includes Huawei’s ADS driver-assistance suite with LiDAR, radar, and multiple cameras, along with digital Matrix LED headlights and an adaptive suspension system for enhanced comfort and handling.
