The New Range King? 2026 Geely Boyue REV
The 2026 Geely Boyue REV is a newly introduced extended-range electric SUV that debuted in China in early 2026, engineered with a strong focus on ultra-long-distance driving. Built as an EREV, it combines electric mobility with a petrol-powered generator to eliminate range anxiety, delivering an impressive total driving range of up to 1,525 km on a full charge and tank. Its modern design follows Geely’s “Ocean Tide Aesthetics” philosophy, featuring a sleek fastback-inspired silhouette, a low drag coefficient of 0.286 Cd, and a well-proportioned body measuring 4,680 mm in length, 1,892 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, supported by a 2,778 mm wheelbase for balanced cabin space and road presence.
Under the hood, the Boyue REV uses a series-hybrid system where a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine acts purely as a generator, supplying energy to a 160 kW (218 hp) permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that produces 327 Nm of torque. This setup ensures smooth electric driving characteristics while maintaining efficiency, with the range extender achieving a high thermal efficiency of 47.26%. The SUV also supports advanced 3C fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in around 15 minutes, and includes a practical 6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function for powering external appliances, making it suitable for outdoor and emergency use scenarios.
The vehicle is offered with two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) “Aegis Gold Brick” battery options, catering to different driving needs. The standard 28.3 kWh battery provides a CLTC pure electric range of 220 km and a combined range of about 1,400 km, while the larger 50.4 kWh pack extends the electric range to 375 km and total range to 1,525 km. Fuel efficiency remains competitive at 4.95 L/100 km and 5.15 L/100 km, respectively. Riding on a suspension setup with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link independent rear system, the Boyue REV is tuned to offer a comfortable yet stable driving experience, aligning with its role as a long-range, tech-focused family SUV.
