2026 Audi A5L
The 2026 Audi A5L is a stretched, China-specific version of the latest B10-generation A5, created to replace the long-standing A4L in China. Unlike the global A5, which adopts a sleek Sportback liftback design, the A5L returns to a more traditional three-box sedan layout with a separate trunk, catering to local preferences for executive-style sedans. The extended “L” designation highlights its longer wheelbase, which significantly improves rear-seat legroom and overall passenger comfort, making it more suitable for chauffeur-driven use.
Built on Audi’s new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), the A5L is powered by the latest fifth-generation EA888 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. It is offered in two configurations, including a standard version producing 204 hp and 340 Nm of torque, and a more powerful variant featuring a 48V mild-hybrid system that delivers 272 hp and 400 Nm. Both versions are paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, with buyers able to choose between front-wheel drive and the brand’s quattro all-wheel-drive system. Performance remains strong for a luxury sedan, with the base model accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in around 7.7 seconds, while the higher-output version completes the sprint in about 5.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of up to 240 km/h.
In terms of size, the A5L measures 4,903 mm in length with a 2,922 mm wheelbase, making it noticeably longer than the standard A5 and offering improved cabin space, especially for rear passengers. Inside, the sedan embraces a high-tech “Digital Stage” layout, featuring a curved panoramic display that integrates an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, along with an optional 10.9-inch passenger display. Premium features include advanced Matrix LED headlights, customizable digital OLED taillights, and a smart panoramic glass roof that can switch between transparent and opaque. The cabin also offers a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, while higher trims incorporate advanced driver assistance technologies, including a Huawei-powered system with lidar sensors for enhanced urban and highway driving support.
