The 2026 Volkswagen ID. UNYX 07 is a stylish mid-size electric crossover-liftback designed specifically for the Chinese market, combining modern EV technology with an attractive starting price of around 129,900 yuan (approximately $16,200 USD). Built at Volkswagen Anhui on the proven MEB platform, it is the first Volkswagen model to adopt the jointly developed China Electrical Architecture (CEA), delivering enhanced software integration and smart connectivity. The sleek fastback design is complemented by practical dimensions, measuring 4,853 mm in length, 1,852 mm in width, and 1,566 mm in height, with a generous 2,826 mm wheelbase. Despite its 2,057 kg curb weight, the ID. UNYX 07 offers an impressive 4.7-meter turning radius, making it easy to maneuver in urban environments.
Power comes from a single rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric motor producing 170 kW (231 horsepower) and between 310 and 350 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel-drive setup enables the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 160 km/h. Energy is supplied by a 59.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a CLTC-rated driving range of up to 558 kilometers, making the ID. UNYX 07 well suited for both daily commuting and longer journeys with dependable efficiency.
Inside, the cabin features a high-tech layout centered around three high-resolution displays, including a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15-inch 2K infotainment touchscreen, and a 12-inch 2K passenger entertainment display. The system runs on a MediaTek 8676 processor paired with Xpeng-developed CEA software, while a four-zone AI voice assistant supports natural language commands throughout the cabin. Practicality is equally impressive, offering 711 liters of luggage space that expands to 1,580 liters with the rear seats folded. Safety is enhanced by a body constructed with more than 80% ultra-high-strength steel, while advanced driver assistance technologies include Highway Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), automatic lane changes, intelligent ramp navigation, and memory parking for added convenience.
