2026 Arcfox S3 for Under $9,000 is Finally Here!
The Arcfox S3 is a mid-size electric sedan from BAIC Group that combines an affordable entry price with competitive range and modern EV technology. Launched in 2026, it starts at around ¥64,800 (approximately $8,900 USD) and measures 4,916 mm in length, giving it a spacious footprint for its class. The sedan is powered by a 159 kW (216 hp) front-mounted electric motor producing 250 Nm of torque, with front-wheel drive and a single-speed automatic transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 7.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 165 km/h.
The Arcfox S3 offers several LFP battery options ranging from 44.2 kWh to 65.8 kWh, with claimed CLTC driving ranges of approximately 460 km, 535 km, 560 km, and up to 660 km, depending on the configuration. It also supports CATL Choco-SEB battery-swapping technology, adding another potential advantage for convenient long-distance travel. Measuring 1,900 mm wide and 1,480 mm tall, with a 2,876 mm wheelbase, the S3 provides a practical interior and a generous 578-liter trunk, which can expand to as much as 1,746 liters with the rear seats folded.
Inside, the Arcfox S3 focuses heavily on technology and flexibility, featuring a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. The cabin can also be transformed into a sleeping-friendly “bed mode” by folding the front seats flat, while the rear seats offer up to a 118-degree recline for additional comfort. Higher-spec versions add LiDAR sensors and advanced urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) driver-assistance capabilities, making the S3 an interesting combination of affordability, practicality, long-range capability, and intelligent EV technology.
