of course I had to finish off the Dynamite Deka "trilogy".
Dynamite Deka EX / Asian Dynamite was released in 2007 and not many people saw it. It's essentially a "remix" (because that's a nicer word than "rehash") of Dynamite Cop, it shares almost all the same levels and enemy types, the characters play the same (although Jean was replaced with a grown-up version of the President's daughter from the first game, and Eddie was replaced with a woman named "Jennifer Genuine"). Although some areas are slightly different, and there's new QTE types, so it's not a straight 1:1 copy.
But the biggest difference is the costume changes. The Powerup system was replaced with being able to pick up three different costume changes for each character, which turns you into a character with a completely different movelist. You get to stay as that character until you take a certain amount of damage, or find another swap. Some of the swaps are... rather questionable in terms of usefulness.
Bruno does not seem like a popular choice for 1CC purposes (not that there's that many 1CC's of this on YouTube), which is odd to me because he seems solid in this game. The Skull Hunter costume gives him two free machineguns, and "Blue Lee" has an absolutely bonkers attack combo if you find certain melee weapons.
I felt like Bruno has the easiest time with Wolf Hongo (the final boss) too. You get a free Skull Hunter drop from the boss before him, and another swap on the last screen, so you can just shoot Wolf Hongo with ammo from 4 different machineguns (but be sure to delay your shots a little because Wolf is fully invulnerable when doing his wakeup kick when getting up off the ground) to do most of his lifebar.

![Dynamite Cop [DC] - Survival Mission 3 Clear
Part of the RetroAchievements set. The Dreamcast version of Dynamite Cop has some fucking absurd bonus challenges that give you absolutely nothing for clearing them, other than the satisfaction of a job well done.
The ultimate challenge is this 100-enemy Survival mode. You only have one healthbar, enemies do not normally drop health items, the only other healing items are some apples and a drink in the refrigerator.
The key to getting through this is the piledriver. When standing on one of the counters in the stage along with an enemy, your regular grab gets replaced with one where you pick the enemy up over your head. Performing a piledriver with Jump+Punch that hits the floor will make them drop an item - banana (health), bandage (health), dollar bill (health, somehow), ammo clip, or a lighter (worthless because the spraycan does not appear in this mode). So unfortunately, its very necessary to farm as many items as you can out of enemies, not only because that extra health is obviously crucial, but having all those ammo clips is nice for shooting down bosses.
....oh but theres a catch! The game has an item limit (of course), and if you go over it, it starts despawning items. I think it starts with whatever the oldest spawned items are. Twice in attempting this I didnt notice it had despawned the machine gun until it was too late (you absolutely need a machine gun for the end). So you wanna farm items, but dont farm TOO much. Fun.
Besides making you fight multiple fat chefs at once, the game has the absolute gall to make the last two enemies spawned... TWO copies of Wolf Hongo, the final boss. Better have the machine gun and a lot of ammo.
Im never playing this mode again in my life.
