A personal favorite, of course I was looking forward to talking about this one. Riot is a crosshair shooter with a twist - instead of solely attacking enemies in the background, you have to worry about enemies in the foreground too! This can make the game a little overwhelming at times with all the stuff you have to keep track of, it definitely has a bit of a learning curve. But it's worth playing because the game is so damn bizarre, with trippy boss battles at the end of every stage. Although developed by Tecmo Japan, it never officially got a Japanese release (until the 2024 Arcade Archives home port), only getting limited releases in parts of Asia and possibly Europe.

This romhack changes a lot of things around balance-wise, attempting to add new moves, making Gill playable and adding an extra version of Sean. Was it a hit with the 3rd Strike scene? As far as I can tell, not really. Theres a lot of weird changes and the jurys out on what the balance is like now. Was kinda fun to fuck around with at least. Unfortunately the set requires getting an S-rank win with every character and that feels like a lot of luck in hoping the CPU will let you meet all the weird arbitrary requirements for it.
