After many months of my searching for a Hi8 XR camcorder in working condition and at an affordable price, I came across this Sony CCD-TRV87 from 1999. This camcorder was one in a lineup of other XR series camcorders that offered increased resolution for both their Video8 and Hi8 models, and stereo audio for the Hi8 models. This model's incredible minimum illumination rating of 0.6 lux coupled with its halogen spotlight and Nightshot, external microphone and headphone jacks, stereo audio, digital effects, and laserlink capabilities make for a very well-equipped camcorder, even by today's standards. Amazingly, this camera works perfectly, with no problems whatsoever.
