Here we have a 1978 Stern Wild Fyre pinball machine in action.
I'm a huge fan of the early solid state Stern pinball machines. They're really basic, but somehow manage to be fun all the same.
Hitting the drops on the left spots WILD and FYRE and doing so lights the extra ball and special lanes. Hitting the 3-bank drop targets lights the double bonus. The bonus is collected at the saucer on the right.
The lack of in-lanes is fairly unique and I love how the slingshots are half-way up the playfield. A well-hit shot up the upper-right lane will take out two or three drops on the 3-bank, which is similar to Stern's Magic and Nugent. Trident is another game that places the slingshots up the playfield (in addition to the normal slingshots.
