On ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ญ๐ต๐ณ๐ฌ, a Royal Nepal Airlines Fokker F-27 Friendship (Reg. 9N-AAR) was operating a scheduled international passenger flight from Kathmandu to Delhi, carrying 18 passengers and 5 crew members.
On approach to Palam Airport, the crew encountered very bad weather conditions with storm activity, turbulences, rain and windshear. On final, the pilot-in-command lost control of the plane that was caught by downdrafts and crashed 3 km short of runway 28. One passenger was killed while 22 other occupants were injured. The plane was destroyed.
