After sitting on the sidelines for far too long, it’s finally time to get back to work on my 1963 Chevy II Gasser project. This car is going to be my main winter build as I prepare it for drag and drive racing in 2026, but there’s still a lot to be done before it’s track-ready.

In this video, I walk through the current state of the build and the big challenges ahead:

✔ Deciding on the right engine and transmission package
✔ Sorting out the incomplete Speedway Gasser front suspension
✔ Addressing the fact that the car has no interior at all
✔ Figuring out possible issues with the existing roll bar setup
✔ Considering whether the rear axle will need to be replaced
✔ Planning out what it really takes to make this car a reliable drag and drive gasser

The ’63 Chevy II is a dream project, but it’s basically a blank slate at this point. Follow along as I dig into the details, share the obstacles, and lay the foundation for bringing this old gasser back to life.
