A 15-year-old boy was detained after a woman was shot in the leg during a birthday party in the Atascocita area of Harris County early Monday morning. Deputies responded to a home on Liles Lane shortly after 2 a.m. and found the injured woman, who was transported to a hospital and is expected to recover.
Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots and found damage to nearby homes and vehicles, including shattered car windows and bullet holes in walls. Residents said a large party had been taking place before the shooting occurred. Authorities recovered shell casings at the scene and are continuing their investigation. Because the suspect is a juvenile, officials have not released details about any charges.
