We recently spent 15 hours in American Airlines Premium Economy so…was it worth the upgrade on the longest flight of our lives? Well, this was on American's older 777, not their new premium economy, but it still felt like a massive upgrade with wider seats, way more legroom, especially in the bulkhead seat, better recline that allowed us to sleep for most of the flight, and honestly, it felt closer to domestic business class than regular economy. We also got a decent amenity kit with a big blanket and an ostrich pillow — but the food left a lot to be desired, and the plane really showed its age. Despite that the upgrade was absolutely worth it for such a long flight, and the crazy part is, we were actually able to buy the points to book these seats for less than $1000 per person, saving us thousands had we paid for them in cash.
