Though much better, beautifully restored copies of this short can be found online, this dark super 8mm film print is historically important. Originally made in 1918, “100% American” was re-released as “100% Canadian” in 1943 by the Canadian government with Mary Pickford’s permission with the intent of encouraging Canadians to ration and save money during WW2, just as they did in WW1. Enjoy it here with my accompaniment!
