Maybe there's a reason most books relating to work in the 21st century are self-help books!
Definitely watch @themidnightreader's brilliant review of The Love Hypothesis which is in the form of a Q&A with her science post-doc husband youtube.com/watch?v=hcqSbanEwpw. I would call it spoiler free i.e. the romantic pairing is probably evident from the blurb.

#booktube #booktuberThe Ballad of Lord Edward and Citizen Small Book Review (Spoiler Free) - A New FavouriteLisa in Bookland2023-03-27 | Here is an individual book review of what I think is the best book I’ve read this year so far – The Ballad of Lord Edward and Citizen Small by Neil Jordan. Such a brilliant book based on a true story about an unlikely friendship between Lord Edward Fitzgerald and escaped slave Tony Small, against the background of the American Revolution and the 1798 United Irishman rebellion. A great portrait of Irish society at the end of the 18th century, as well as memorable depictions of the Drury Lane theatre in London. Highly recommended!

As my last video before Christmas here is a festive book tag. Thanks for all your support throughout the year.
I missed filming for the 11th Prompt for a book I like that no one else seems to – I had picked The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman, the second book in the Book of Dust trilogy. The relationship between Lyra and Panteleimon is controversial and the book is a bit confusing but I think there’s so much in it to think about.
PROMPTS Christmas is a time of reflection of the past year and looking ahead to the New Year. So book selections can be one you’ve read this past year or one you look forward to for next year. - *Red, Gold & Green colors*: A book with any combination of those colors on the cover. - *Carol Singing*: What is your favorite Christmas Carol? Pick a book with a title that includes word from that song title. - *Christmas Trees, Wreaths & Evergreen Foliage*: A book that features nature as a character? - *Sending Cards*: A favorite epistolary book you read this year or want to read next year? - *Mistletoe*: A book that features unrequited love? - *Santa Claus*: A book that features a character who's not really likable, but endearing anyway. - *Nativity scenes*: A family-based historical fiction? *Elf on a Shelf*: A book on your shelf that catches your eye all the time, but you never pick it up? - *Christmas Movies*: Favorite adaptation or a book you would like to see adapted? - *Ugly Sweaters*: A book that made you laugh out loud. - *Eggnog*: A book you love that everyone seems to hate or vice versa? - *Exchanging gifts*: A book you read this year and thought, “this would be perfect for …” - Christmas Cookies: Share by tagging some friends
