A Tears of the Kingdom Trailer Analysis Delzethin 2022-09-29 | Three years and many announcements and info drops later, and here we are. Thanks to the recent Nintendo Direct, we finally have a name--and release date--for the long-awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild! The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set to take us on a sprawling adventure across the kingdom of Hyrule--and the skies above--next May.But there was a whole trailer accompanying the reveal, and a deceptive amount of details were hidden within its minute and a half of run time. Remake It! Ganondorfs Smash Moveset Delzethin 2022-06-18 | Designing movesets for Smash Bros. is a complicated and surprisingly deep process. Adapting a character's canon abilities while keeping them balanced, fun to play, and unique among the roster (echo fighters aside) takes a trained hand, and it's something Sakurai and the other developers have handled very well...with occasional exceptions. And when a character's moveset doesn't feel quite right, Smash fans start asking for the next game to...remake it.This episode, we're focusing on one of the standout examples of a moveset that doesn't feel quite right. Ganondorf may have snuck into Melee by virtue of pulling off a copy of Captain Falcon's moveset, but the more time has passed, the worse it's aged. If the next title were to give the Demon King the overhaul many have been waiting for, how could it be done in a way that enhances his moveset, plays more closely to his source material, and makes him more competitively viable while keeping enough traits of his current moveset to avoid abandoning the fans he already has? A Multiversus Roster Analysis Delzethin 2021-12-24 | There sure are a lot of big name platform fighters springing up lately, huh? An announcement last month (and a leak in the weeks prior) revealed the existence of Multiversus, bringing together a century's worth of characters from cartoons, comics, films, and everything else under the Warner Bros. label to duke it out in multiplayer mayhem!While the only footage shown to the public so far is a single trailer (and some extra footage dropped on Twitter recently), there's a lot therein to talk about. A New, Wilder Champion! Creating New Custom Specials Delzethin 2021-04-13 | "Ultimate" Smash Bros. experience it may arguably be, there are some features from earlier Smash games that didn't make it in this time around. Among those missing is a feature from Smash 4 where each fighter (in the base roster) had unlockable alternate versions of their specials with new stats and properties, allowing players to customize how each of them played! To an extent. While a cool idea on paper, in practice it proved highly impractical to unlock every variant for every character, many felt rather plain and uncreative, and several proved so unbalanced that the competitive community didn't bother with them for long.But what if they came back? What if a future title--a "Smash 6", a definitive edition of Ultimate, or otherwise--revived the concept of custom specials? Smash Ultimate Pyra & Mythra Moveset Analysis (Pre-Release) Delzethin 2021-02-26 | Turns out it's never too late for a second chance to join the fight. Just like with Min Min and ARMS, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has doubled back to another game that was once too late to pull a newcomer from and brought in someone from Xenoblade Chonicles 2. But instead of Rex like (almost) everyone expected, the Aegis herself has joined in his stead! The two halves of Pyra and Mythra bring the closest to a traditional stance system we've seen yet, swapping between each other on the fly to utilize unique specials alongside standard attacks with similar base animations but different stats!But what more is there to this dynamic duo's moveset? A Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Tier List Delzethin 2021-02-08 | Sometimes, the best games can be the ones you never knew were possible. While many people believed a followup to Hyrule Warriors would happen, who thought it'd take the form of a prequel to Breath of the Wild? Age of Calamity expands on the story we only previously saw scraps up in memories (and doing more with it than expected, one could say) and takes a closer look at many fan favorite characters. All while adding in the hack-and-slash gameplay of Dynasty Warriors at its finest!With with such a large and varied roster comes one big question: How well does everyone measure up against each other?
