I've been using the Zoom R20 multitrack recorder for a year and a half now and I think I understand the options, benefits, and limitations fairly well. I'm commonly asked about some of it's shortcomings (like lack of punch in and out, MIDI sync, built-in mics, and additional 1/4" jacks). While those limitations exist, I think the R20 still performs fairly well as a budget multitracker for musicians who do not want to use a DAW. However, there is one aspect of the R20 that annoys me more than any of those other limitations....
