With matters settled in Esteria, Adol, accompanied by Dr. Flair, quietly sets sail to Celceta to answer the beckon of the bottled letter. The ship stops at the port town of Promalock/Promarock, where Adol first heard of the strife in Esteria (as seen in the Ys I & II OVA). There he catches up with old associates and learns of strange happenings in the Celceta region before catching a ride with a merchant to the border town of Casnan. Adol is jailed under suspicion by the town guards and meets Duren, a self-proclaimed "information vendor". With the help of Dr. Flair the situation is sorted out, but behind the scenes the captain of the guards meets with the shadowy Guruda and discusses an underlying scheme behind the scenes..
