Skin that is lax, crepey, and sagging is thirsty. Under-hydrated. Yin deficient.
That thirst tends to increase as we get older. Hormonal changes, environmental stressors, and years of accumulated tension can all make it harder for skin to hold onto the water and fluidity that keep it looking plump and resilient.
Just like you wouldn't eat a bowl of yogurt when you're thirsty, I also wouldn't apply cream to dry, thirsty skin first. I see best results by giving it a solid drink of water.
For your skin, that drink of water is a hydrating toner or mist.
Once your skin is quenched and drenched with hydrating fluid, THEN apply your cream, serum, or my fave: facial oil. This step seals the juiciness in and helps prevent water loss from the skin.
I have a specific way I work with hydrators linked in my bio. I'd love to hear your thoughts or questions below. If you recently started using hydrators tell me what you noticed!!
