A young Neotropic Cormorant (Nannopterum brasilianum) perches an old Loblolly Pine (Pinus taeda) branch in the North Woodway Pond at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, in Houston, TX, USA. It vibrates its throat to keep itself cool in the heat, and even while obviously sleepy, it seems to try to keep an eye out for potential danger.
