A Yellow-crowned Night Heron (Nyctanassa violacea) stands tall with wings outstretched in the morning at Sheldon Lake State Park, in Houston, TX, USA. It reminds me of a yoga or meditation pose, but I assume the bird is trying to dry its wings or regulate its body temperature.
