We’ve been conditioned to separate our “work selves” from our “life selves.” But as Essence Ventures CEO Caroline Wanga reminds us, the modern world no longer accommodates that divide.

“ I think what's been missed in there was an adequate communication that we had moved out of this era where you need to build this toolkit about who you are internally for work, and then you have this other toolkit for life,” she says.

“You will lose if you keep those things separate. The modern world no longer accommodates that, but it forgot to tell you.”
