I started learning Excel and Power BI more than 10 years ago… and even today, I still use these tricks in my day-to-day work.

In this video, I’m going to show you a mix of practical and slightly advanced tricks across Power Query, Excel formulas, Pivot Tables, DAX, and Data Modeling. Some of these will save you time, some will make your work more dynamic, and a few will completely change how you think about data.

We’ll cover things like:
• Using Text.Trim beyond spaces with multiple characters
• Removing blank columns dynamically in Power Query
• Using the IS keyword to check data types
• Solving consecutive grouping problems (local grouping)
• Writing smarter formulas like XLOOKUP + SUM in one go
• Creating dynamic ranges in Excel
• Handling financial year calculations
• DAX tricks like strict equals, YTD control, and duplicate detection
• Small but useful UI tricks to work faster
