Hi there, and thanks for joining today. One of my favorite quotes is I believe an Afghan Proverb, and it states “If you think that you’re leading, and nobody is following you, you’re only taking a walk.” Leadership is not individual. Leadership is a team sport. You want to surround yourself with people. Otherwise, you’re not leading. Don’t think of it as a pyramid. Too many of us when we think about leadership, we put ourselves up on a pedestal right at the top of the pyramid. Leadership is more about being the hub in a wheel that spins around. All of the spokes connect you to your team. Leaders don’t sit in their office, they’re out among their people. Leaders are constantly surrounding themselves with their peers, with their boss, with others. Now yes, there’s going to be times when you need to work on stuff individually, but every time that you find yourself alone know that it’s less likely that you’re actually leading your team. And that’s the main point that I want to make today. Get out among people, because if you’re not out among your team, not with peers, the odds of you leading are significantly diminished. So get to it. Thanks so much everyone, bye bye.
