Each year, on the second Tuesday of February, people around the world celebrate Safer Internet Day (SID) to promote a safer and better internet, especially for children and young people.
Safer Internet Day 2025 falls on Tuesday, 11 February, with events scheduled throughout the month.
In November 2024, during the Safer Internet Forum — a key annual international conference in Europe that brings together key actors in child online safety, including young people, parents, educators, policymakers, researchers, law enforcement bodies, NGOs, industry experts, and more—we asked young people to write down questions on topics important to them.
We collected their questions, and Deputy Director-General of DG CONNECT, Renate Nicolay, answers some of them in this video. Stay tuned for more!

The Commission's work is steered by a College of Commissioners, and led by its President. The Commissioners work on specific policy priorities that are set out by the Commission President.
