A lot of people think they need a new GPU just because their current one is a few years old... today I explain why many upgrades are not worth it, especially moves like RTX 3070 to RTX 5060, where the real FPS difference can be tiny compared to the money spent.
Before replacing your GPU, you should look at the games you actually play, the settings you use, your monitor resolution and refresh rate, VRAM limits, market pricing, and whether you can still get more performance through DLSS, Lossless Scaling, undervolting or overclocking.
There are good reasons to upgrade, but “my GPU is old” is almost never one of them.
