"MachiNations", Yannick Rieu's latest album proves beyond any doubt that he no longer belongs solely to the "jazz" niche. He here reaffirms his openness towards other genres. This new album stands out for the multiplicity of its musical influences, without being a mere patchwork. The various musical forays and inspirations are well assimilated, and delivered with much maturity. As a whole, "MachiNations" bears the signature of an artist, always in pursuit of originality and balance.
On this new album, Yannick Rieu surrounds himself with four of the most talented musicians of their generation: Samuel Joly, drums and percussion (Kevin Warren on tours); Rémi-Jean Leblanc, double bass and electric bass ; Jérôme Beaulieu, keyboards and piano; François Jalbert, guitar. In addition to these musicians, Alexandre Lapointe, Érika Angel and François Lafontaine join the group on an intermittent basis.
