Montreal based singer Lana Stamen brings her own special touch to the genre of musical theater. Indeed, this genre is all hers. Stamen is steeped in the style, holding a Master's degree in musical theater from the New Bulgarian University, and focusing her career passionately on the style for more than a decade.
Stamen has a crystalline sensitivity to the characters and situations woven into these memorable pieces; mining the source musicals for her own enjoyable theatrics. Sexy, smart, and dramatic, the singer draws us into each piece, enhancing her performance with set-up stories, and a decidedly animated delivery.
Hailing from Sofia, Bulgaria, Stamen's influences range widely, from the classic American performers like Barbra Streisand and Liza Minelli to sprinkles of the distinctive Bulgarian style in which she grew up.
