Damon Bramich studied two branches of Huang Sheng-Shyan (Huang Xin Xiang) Tai chi in Australia starting in 1983 following his mom to Tai chi classes with a teacher named Wu Wei who followed Mantak Chia and Huang's lineage. Later in 1990, his mom and him trained with a female student of Peter Wu in Chinatown Sydney Australia of Huang's lineage. Damon eventually became a disciple of Fu Shengyuan of the Yang family of Tai chi chuan.

Matthew Stampe, started around 1989, Cheng Man-Ching's 37 Yang short form Tai Chi at Tidewater Tai chi when Almanzo “LaoMa” Lamoureux and Larry Mann invited him to try a class. Matt eventually trained with a few Robert W. Smith and Ben Lo students like Wilson Pitts, Larry Crouse, David Walls-Kaufmann, Don Davis, and Stephen Goodson. Matt has spent times in the D.C. parks at open classes like Fleming park in Bethesda, classes of David Walls-Kaufmann, Warren Conner, David Chen, and Julian Chu. Matthew has been to seminars with Ben Lo and William CC Chen. Matthew eventually became a disciple in the lineage of Fu Zhongwen through Coach Weiqi He and Sifu Damon Bramich.
