I am NOT a gamer cat... not by a long shot. But I do like to have fun with some games now and then. Which means that the whole "gaming scene" has gotten way too competitive for my taste over the last decades. I like to sit down and enjoy a game for a bit of relaxation time. But everything that came out after 3D became a big thing is "faster and harder" to keep competetive folk engaged. I don't really like that.
I played quite a few games in good old DOS. Point and Click adventures are still my favorite: Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones, Sam 'n Max hit the road, Toonstruck... lovely memories! On the action side I only got into very few select games: Doom and Doom II (of course) and Unreal was pretty much all I could enjoy.
Puzzle games also got me involved: Tetris, Incredible Machine, Al and Sid's incredible toons and Pushover.
I wish I could say "to name a few", but that is literally all of it. I might have forgotten one or two games, but no other comes to mind that I really played through. At most I got a few levels in and that's that.
Now, this is also why I never got a console as a kid. But the company I work for had an X-Box showcase in the public break room and I got hooked on "Burnout"... so when the X-Box 360 came around, I snatched up a regular plain first gen X-Box that was on sale. And that's where this video starts...
