Originally, I intended to have this video as a single parter, but a slightmishap involving a screw and a few transformer windings caused my progressto stop very short of completion.
By now, thanks to the "hive mind", in particular rafi22000, I know the modelis a Polish produced "Unitra ZRK M2405S" that was sold in foreign markets under different monikers.
The new transformer was slightly less powerful than needed, something wasoff during the measurements it seems. So I decided to eliminate the biggestcurrent drawing elements: the light bulbs that light the VU meter and themode display. Replacing them with LEDs saved about half the current drawon the DC side and helps keep the new transformer cool.
