Restoration Project #51 - HP µLab - Take 2!
Back in 2021, I did a combination repair and art project for Karpour. It was based on a found PCB from an HP 5036A µLab unit. These were training kits for the emerging microprocessor based devices. I'd say it might have been used in schools and for training professionals alike, since the training manual makes a few assumptions about basic electronic knowledge. I did like the concept, and so I added a saved search in e-bay to keep an eye out for a unit for my own. And yes, they do pop up every now and then, but the asking prices are usually way too high for a "nice to have" product. But... I lucked out a few weeks ago! Shipping was still a bit much, especially considering how it arrived...
