Here is the latest release of morose, misanthropic primitive black metal from Sweden’s Wrekan.
Exil is the first sole Wrekan release since 2022’s Maror on Realm and Ritual, separated by two splits in the intervening years. It is poignant, dark and captivating. Pouring an intoxicating syrup of bleak trance through your speakers, the sound is dense and oozing in malice, with shifts in tempo that surge and blast with satisfying momentum, and a valorous melodicism to counter the grey pall hanging over it.
Released to tape by Depressive Illusion Records in a run of 66 cassettes with single panel j-card inserts. Available from the label website now:
