For my final feature of DS Sunday this week, I bring you an album of cold haunting dark ambient from British two-piece band Viewing.
A vampyric form of dungeon synth, Eternal Sorrow is the mournful lamentation of ancient solitude. Inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula and the film by Francis Ford Coppola, these five elegies offer ice-curdled melodies, echoing the barren stone corridors and the loamy scent of decayed decadence and cool musty crypts.
A sombre note to leave you on this week, but may it be the cooling embrace you need to sink yourself in to.

DS Sunday intro banners for this month feature the work of French artist François Garas (1866-1925). A mysterious, and enigmatic architect involved in the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Garas created utopian, dreamlike compositions seeking to translate ideas, sensations and musical rhythms into architectural structures. His signature works are ‘Artists' Interiors’ and ‘Temples for Future Religions’, dedicated to the great composers Beethoven and Wagner, and themes of ‘Life’, ‘Death’, and ‘Thought’.
