Okay, this is easily one of the most unsettling concepts I have played in a while. Imagine being unborn, but having to live out a simulation of your potential future just to decide if actually being born is worth it. That is the premise of Foreborn.
It is a very short experience, maybe twenty five minutes top, but it packs a heavy psychological punch. The whole vibe is extremely claustrophobic, especially with that deep red, retro pixelated aesthetic you saw on the thumbnail. This is apparently the fourth game in The Twisted Zone anthology series, and honestly, it is probably my favorite one so far.
I went into this expecting standard indie sci-fi horror, but it leans hard into psychological distress and some pretty graphic moments that caught me off guard. It really makes you think about some heavy existential stuff while keeping you incredibly tense the whole time.
