Here are some thoughts about what would be practical in a fictional apocalypse scenario, whether it be zombies, fallout, or whatever else, based on my experience with various firearms over the past 15 years. Might give you some ideas for your writing or video game design.
To make this discussion more interesting I recorded it at a range, popping off some rounds with a Ruger Mark IV 22LR, Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum, Henry lever-action (also .357), and an old "boomstick" (double-barrel 12ga shotgun).
Also adding in Project Zomboid gameplay footage, which is relevant to some of the points I'm making. :)
